Christmas Bazaar

Image
Our Christmas bazaar was a resounding success - many thanks to everyone who attended, and to all of our wonderful volunteers who helped put on a very special occassion for all the children, parents and carers. In the end we raised nearly £3,500 which will be contributed toward this year's spending priorities.

Fireworks Night

Many thanks to those who attended our Fireworks Night on Friday, we hope that you enjoyed it. A very special thanks to our volunteers who went truly above and beyond with unprecedented numbers attending - well over double our normal attendance. This includes parents, carers and amazing teaching and support staff. Fireworks Jack did us proud with a spectacular display as ever. We are also grateful for sponsorship and advertising from Caplen Estates . For anyone hosting a board, we are so appreciative, and the boards will be removed shortly. The event raised a profit of £8,750 ! This is the most that we have raised in a single event, and will be spent on the agreed priority with the school - refreshing laptops and other IT equipment for our kids.

Firstly, a huge thank you to everyone who volunteered, spread the word and turned out to support Fireworks Night on Friday. We will share more details on funds raised for the school in due course.  But in the meantime, on to the next main event! !!! SAVE THE DATE !!! The PTA will be hosting a Christmas Bazaar - see messages from your class rep for dates and times. Please note that this event is for the school community only - i.e. parents, carers and their guests and is not open to the general public. More details will follow shortly but in the meantime please get in touch with the PTA if: You are a local business owner and would be interested in having a stall at the event, £25 per stall (please note that we have a limited number of stalls available so cannot guarantee a space for all interested parties). You are able to volunteer for the event : tasks will include set up, running stalls such as the tombola and games, and dismantling / tidying post ev

Playground Competition - Update

Image
Sadly, we weren't the winners of the competition we entered recently for new playground markings. See our  Playground Competition  post for the original details of the competition. We're still feeling lucky though, so if you find any other competitions that the PTA could enter to win equipment or other prizes for the school, please feel free to let us know via your class reps...

Competition Entry Text We’ve entered in the Fun & Active Playgrounds competition and are in with a chance of winning a playground transformation worth £3000 for the new academic year! We’re crossing our fingers as the Silver Sports Package includes 6 bright and colourful playground markings that encourage physical play and activity. With a Netball Court, Dance With Me, Active Trail, Jump Game, Dartboard and 4-Way Hopscotch – the range of markings can be used to enhance breaktimes and PE lessons! Find out more here: https://fun-play.co.uk/playground-competition The competition will run until they've had applications from 100 schools, so there's no predefined closing date for a winner to be announced. We'll post an update when we know more...

The results are in from our Halloween fund raising events: Event £ Halloween Activity Sheet £ 214 Wizards and Witches non-uniform day £ 206 Total £ 420 The money will be added to the PTA funds and used to buy equipment for the school and fund other exciting activities. Halloween Activity Sheet

Image
We've designed a Halloween activity sheet to keep your little ones busy for a couple of hours over the half-term break, and we'll be selling it at the school gates this week. Look out for some of the Year 6 children lending a helping hand! Remember to return your completed sheet by the 5th November to be entered into a prize draw for a £20 Smyths voucher.

Meet the Team

Image
We recently had our 2021 AGM and elected new parents into some of the PTA roles to replace outgoing parents. New members are: PTA Co-Chair Kulsum PTA Co-Chair Katie PTA Secretary Michael The PTA relies heavily on the time and energy donated by a handful of core committee members and dozens of parent volunteers throughout the school year, so please feel free to say hello to us if you see us around the school, and let us know if you have time to help us organise and run PTA events.
